In the Wise Co. area Verizon is prolly the best provider IMO. Also i wouldnt look for Cingular anytime soon over there.

Re: Would someone get us another cell provider...

    I'll tell you why...
First off, would love to have roll over minutes...that would nice since it does seem like when you use minutes, you use them in batches.

Second, customer care. I took my phone up last week, after waiting the 2 hours to finally get to talk to someone. I had a trainee, not a problem there, I know that happens. I explained what happened (my phone, the number 6, the right directional arrow and the green send button will not work). That took awhile, then of course they checked and to their shock it seemed, those buttons didn't work. My phone is insured and still under warranty both. They fill out the information...and then again, and then again because there was some problems getting things in the system and in the right order, but I'm actually being calm. I know it's a trainee and even with the mad rush and waiting so long, hey I'm not entirely that hateful. I finally help to try to make sure the information is put in right, get my papers and told it will be 2, maybe 3 days till I get my phone. That was Saturday. I know Monday is a holiday. I see Wednesday, maybe Thursday at worst...well here it is the next weekend and no phone. I emailed their support, just to try to find out if its been sent, get me a tracking number, something and so far, I haven't gotten a response. Now I know in the past, if your phone was covered, you would get a loaner phone till yours was either repaired or the replacement came in, I got nothing. I wonder if my bill will reflect a reduction of the time that I couldn't use a phone....I'm guessing no.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

Only problem I have with Alltel is that there is no use to even have a cell phone if you live in Appy. It's a black hole of signal loss up there.

Cingular has one of the smnallest coverage areas in the country, and you can only get service when there is a cingular owend tower close by, they cover nly about 15% of the united states, At least with alltel, you can get a signal as long as there is a tower, whether its an alltel tower or not. Personal I would never have cingular, nextel or suncom even if they were free! Alltel has the absolute largest service area of any other provider, by a tremendous margin!

Re: Would someone get us another cell provider...

Rollover minutes are basically a rip-off. If you have a bunch of minutes left over at the end of the month you are paying for more minutes than you really need.

I pay $59.95 for my service and $9.95 to add another phone for my wife. We share 900 anytime minutes, anywhere in the country. I know that doesn't sound like a lot of minutes for that price, but there is a lot more to it. We have unlimited nights & weekends, unlimited mobile to mobile (any Alltel customer) and unlimited calling to any 10 people we chose, mobile or land, any company. Calls to those 10 people count as mobile to mobile minutes. As of yesterday, just on my phone, I had only used 141 anytime minutes and 103 night and weekend minutes. But I had used 2,839 mobile to mobile minutes, with most of those being to land based phones. That many minutes would have cost a fortune with another company.

When I need to make a call I don't have to worry about paying roaming charges, I don't have to wonder if I have enough minutes left, and I normally don't have a problem getting service. I just can't see myself ever leaving Alltel.

I would imagine that will be the case no matter what provider you have.
